Sources
In addition to the sherds in the reference collection, this web site has been compiled from a number of documents. These include annotated photocopies and print-outs held with the collection, or elsewhere. Some of these are undated, or without specific authorship, but are working documents that have been compiled and maintained by those who worked with the Gloucester Pottery Fabric collection since its inception.
- Microfiche catalogue of pottery fabrics from Gates report, 1983 (1.3Mb)
- Annotated listing of Roman pottery fabrics, dated 1986 (with later additions) (2.3Mb)
- Multi-page printout, apparently from a spreadsheet or database, listing pottery codes and descriptions, undated - but probably 1990s? (9.2Mb)
The bibliography entries attached to the descriptions of the individual fabrics are usually those from the original documents, and have not generally been updated to take account of more recent publications.
